A woman recently shocked the world when she dedicated a large portion of her life savings towards helping save animal lives. Gracie McMurrey, 70 years of age, is an animal lover and comes from a family of veterinary experts. She has spent her career as an enthusiastic veterinarian who has dedicated her time in retirement as a volunteer at the Richardson Animal Shelter.
She revealed that her donation was largely driven by her desire to ensure animals welfare. Having fully dedicated her life towards caring for needy animals, Gracie reveals that she has always loved interacting with them while giving them a chance to better life. Surprisingly, Gracie reveals that she’s allergic to cats, unlike most women who generally love rearing cats as their pets. She, however, is a staunch dog lover and her house, located a few meters away from the Richardson vet facility, is home to various dogs and puppies that she has adopted and raised.
Gracie McMurrey’s dedication to helping save pets and animals goes beyond providing shelter and food for them. Besides saving them, Gracie has also adopted a new model of teaching the pets and animals that she rescues various lifesaving skills such as how to hunt and live with humans. This has helped ensure that the pets she raises at the Richardson Animal Shelter facility get adopted and that they provide good companionship to their new owners.
Part of her motivation to donate her life savings to the Richardson Animal Shelter was largely influenced by her late husband’s dedication and motivation to saving animals. Her late husband, Jim, was also an animal enthusiast and is said to have dedicated his life and career in helping save animals. Gracie revealed that she wished the donation would go towards building a state-of-the-art surgical suite at the facility. The suite would help ensure that animals in need of surgical care get attended to.
To the surprise of many, Gracie also attributed her charity to animals to her religious belief that she has an obligation from God to give back to the society and animals in the best way she can. In the fulfillment of her religious duty of being generous, Gracie feels satisfied that she expects to leave a legacy behind as having helped in touching animals’ lives and thereby leaving the world a better place than she found.
Her generosity and charity have not gone unnoticed among residents. Most residents in the area lauded her efforts while terming them as an initiative bound to change the society at large. The initiative is expected to help reduce the number of homeless and injured animals and pets in the city of Richardson. Some residents also got encouraged to bring out their pets for treatment at the facility, an initiative that is expected to reduce the plight of such affected pets.
In addition to giving out funds to help revolutionize service provision at the animal facility, Gracie has also been working for the last 3 years under a program called Pet Medical Suite where the McMurrey family provides professional treatment and rehabilitation to animals admitted at the Richardson Animal Shelter.
