Fans are concerned returning may hinder an upcoming tour for Meaning of Life though no dates have yet been announced. The singer-songwriter has hinted that news of the tour won’t happen until after the current season of “The Voice.” With taping of auditions and when they will actually air on NBC this fall, Clarkson will have time to hit the road for her favorite part of her job in between holding her seat advising aspiring artists.
Things got pretty emotional on the latest installment of Season 14 of The Voice. As reported by Daily Mail, coaches Kelly Clarkson and Alicia Keys made it pretty clear that they weren’t exactly loving their roles on the NBC show during the April 18 episode, where Kelly teared up as Alicia joked about waving bye-bye to the show completely.
The site reported that Clarkson began to cry as the cameras rolled during the Wednesday night episode, becoming emotional when it came to having to send home three members of her team of six.
“This is absolutely atrocious,” the “No One” singer said of the cuts after Clarkson got emotional. “I wanted to quit today, they wouldn’t let me.”
“Here’s the thing, let’s keep it real. I thought (‘Idol’) was ending,” the “Since U Been Gone” singer told Ellen DeGeneres on Friday’s episode of “Ellen.”
She added that the last time she visited “Idol” before it was canceled in the spring of 2016, producers were already talking about reviving the show. “But I thought, ‘When? In five or 10 years. I didn’t know. But I didn’t know they meant the next year,” said Clarkson.
So before any concrete announcements were made about that series’ return, “I had already been in talks with ‘The Voice,’” she added.
Finalists on NBC’s hit singing reality competition show, The Voice, are getting ready to compete for the coveted winner spot, but RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the REAL competition is going on behind the scenes – between multi-million superstar singers, Kelly Clarkson Opens a New Window. and Jennifer Hudson Opens a New Window
The Voice” is bringing back Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson for Season 15, NBC announced Thursday.
Clarkson currently appears as a coach on the popular singing competition series, while Hudson previously served as a coach during Season 13. Hudson has also served as a coach on the U.K. version of “The Voice” twice, winning her first season on the series. The two will be competing against Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and country music star Blake Shelton in Season 15. Alicia Keys, who is currently a coach, will not return for Season 15.
After the network announced last week Opens a New Window. that both Hudson, 35, and Clarkson, 35, signed contracts to be on The Voice, Hudson and Clarkson quickly clarified that they would NOT be appearing on the same season.
Clarkson is the newest coach on “The Voice” and with that, she brought her bold personality to the panel – one that finds Clarkson shouting, laughing and bouncing out of her seat. It’s just one fraction of the promotion Clarkson is receiving during her Meaning of Life album era. During season 13, she performed “Medicine,” a song that was slated as the official second single from the album but was replaced by the ballad “I Don’t Think About You” (see “The Voice” performance of the single above).
